Serving Greater Tacoma Parks

Who are we?

The Greater Metro Parks Foundation  is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, whose primary purpose is to continue building healthier, more vibrant communities by supporting essential Metro Parks Tacoma programming and capital projects. Our community has a rich parks and recreation heritage, and we are committed to leaving a lasting legacy for this and future generations.

Why are we here?

We believe that parks play a vital role in assuring that everyone in our community has the opportunity to play, learn, and grow in a healthy environment. We can achieve this together by:

  • Providing every child a safe and beautiful place to play
  • Making our neighborhoods attractive and livable
  • Stimulating economic development
  • Creating memories that last a lifetime
  • Making children laugh

How can you help?

We invite you to invest in and take ownership of your local parks.  Through the Foundation you can make a significant impact - right where it's needed the most! To learn more - get involved.

What are the results?

“Quite simply, without the Greater Metro Parks Foundation’s leadership, knowledge, and resources we would not be able to gather the support necessary to have this dream become fully realized.  We deeply need the Foundation in our community to engage, educate, and empower not only our efforts to create this safe, beautiful, and vital place for our neediest children, but we also need the Greater Metro Parks Foundation to help encourage the countless other schools and neighborhood organizations to be able to do exactly the same.  With them in our corner, we feel we can change our children, our families, and our entire community.”
