Greater Metro Parks Foundation Donates to Local Parks

In 2005, voters approved an $84.3 million dollar bond proposed by Metro Parks Tacoma. This monetary investment has gone directly toward improving local parks. The Greater Metro Parks foundation has donated additional money beyond the initial bond, including $618,664 to McCarver Park and $823,475 to Wright Park as part of the Zina Linnik Project. One of the more unique aspects of this fundraising effort was the funding of a $500,000 dollar endowment for future maintenance of these parks. Revamping our parks provides a fun and safe place for children to play and leaves a lasting legacy for the entire community to enjoy.
