The Tacoma Nature Center had a successful Open House on July 30, 2009. The event was to celebrate 30 years of environmental programming at the Nature Center, featuring their new Nurture in Nature Preschool. Guests had an opportunity to meet preschool staff, participate in fun activities, enjoy healthy snacks and help stock the new preschool with housewarming gifts.
They have raised almost $1,500 for scholarships plus many housewarming gifts, such as toys, books and raingear. They can can still use your help. The preschool is registered at Target and ChildTrek if you would like to contribute a housewarming gift or cash donations are always welcome. Donations can be sent or dropped off at the Tacoma Nature Center. For more information, please call (253) 591-6439.
